Its getting near that time......

This is where you can rest a while and discuss anything - doesn't have to be steel guitar related!

Happy birthday to the BSS Forum, again! I know Bob won't mention it, so I will - the annual bill just dropped in his inbox (hint, hint)!

We should all do what we can considering Bob has had the personal problems with his Father and still kept things going.
Thanks, - also to others keeping the Forum working.

Paypal is the quickest, easiest and most painless way of getting a contribution to the BSS. Just a couple of clicks on the keyboard and it's done & dusted. :D everyone to their own, but it would be unfair if potential donors to the site were put off using Paypal.

Its just me Tony, I don't like it and will have no part of it. Between Ebay and paypal when they work together they are too controlling.... as I understand it they can even hang on to your cash now for as long as they like.
I am probably wrong and in the minority but I still favour pictures of the queen.......

The main thing is PayPal is easy for those of us on the thick and lazy side. It took me ages to realise there was a nice easy donate button at the top of every page  then it took me ages to decide how much to donate. I don't think many of us have any idea how much these things cost to run. So I put in a fiver. Is that a laughable amount? I don't know but I'm just saying it was dead easy to do.

Hi guys I just want to add my penny worth by thanking all the same guys who donate to this website each year but there are many more of you who don't and of course you know who you are. this forum can only exist by paying it's way and is totally left to our Bob to foot the bill each year which I find it slightly unfair when others are only happy to use this forum but not be prepared to help put a few quid in each year.
So come on fellows give up a couple of pints just to keep this thing going.
Many thanks, that's my bit said.

Like your own efforts on the newsletter Roy , this is a labour of love for the UK steel community.

Yes Marc does drop a bill on me annually but it covers only his ' raw costs' ... He is a long standing colleague and friend who does so much more 'unpaid' to assist us here (all the time consuming unseen background web crap that nobody ever considers or cares about) for this I am very grateful and frankly could not be involved here without him!

As for donations, well that is 'conscience versus contribution'

It has to be said that those more aggressively using the 'for sale section' (with few exceptions) don't seem to feel the need to contribute to our costs! I confess this is the only area where I feel we are a tad used!

I am very grateful to the core of our community who chip in to the annual costs of the site, as I've said before it would not kill for me to cover the cost entirely but it is nice to feel that some others actually care enough about the continuity of this site.

At this point I must just say! Last year the SSGW made a corporate gesture from the funds and that was graciously accepted thanks lads, much worthy of a mention.

So to close and just for the record:

Since Jan 2015 from a current membership of 689 there have been 17 who's shoulder has been tapped!
That equates to 2.46%......... thanks chaps... 'your' ..... assistance is very much appreciated!
