Six Months Later...

Postby Charlie Brown » Thu Oct 02, 2014 8:24 am

Here's a short review of my first six months battling the beast 8-)

I've barely touched my guitars for the past 6 months, playing PS is a blast, very time consuming but I get a big smile when I learn a new lick. I've gone through loads of vids on youtube, Howcast PS vids are amazing and I spend hours listening to the PS parts on Buck Owens stuff (my favourite).

Now for the bad stuff:

I hate tuning the pedal and knee levers.
It's a heavy momma, almost 40 kg in its case...
I don't like the sound of the George Ls through my tube amps... my Roland sounds good but I'm going to check out one of the new 80w Cubes, I read they're ok-ish for guitar and great for PS.
Not a user-friendly / plug&play instrument for those of us who like to jam on the sofa unplugged, he he. My ankles hurt if I play with shoes that don't have a thick sole!
I want a double neck... and a lighter PS to carry around

Pics and vids soon :guitar:

In all fairness, once the pedals and levers are tuned you shouldn't need to alter them unless you use different guage strings than last time.
As for the pickup I was never a fan of George Ls. I fitted a bill Lawrence 705 to mine and love it. Give that a try.
Shoes? I use canvas deck shoes. Give great feedback through the pedal. More feedback means more control. I think. Especially if you're half pedaling for example.
And I play a Roland 80 XL cube. Recommended.
