Help needed ! Google steamrollered my you tube

Sun Apr 03, 2016 7:29 am

With the advent of Googles changing everything I have lost control of my you tube channel cannot get in to add or delete anything and I reckon in a short while they will delete it altogether its a shame as from the comments I received on the steel help videos it has obviously helped some people to get a toon out of a steel guitar..... I wonder If I was to get a petition up would anybody sign it and if they did would Google take any notice of it...... Its a shame when they give you this window of opportunity that you think is going to be there for your Grandkids to take the micky and then they snatch it away

What a pity John, but It hasn't affected mine ? can you explain more, is it that they've changed your password or what ? I didn't know that Google owned YouTube !
You should be able to log-in directly without using Google+

Also :- you can create a new channel. And while all your videos are still up on you tube, why don't you download them all and then repost them with a new YouTube EXCLUSIVE name ?

Thanks for the support guys it is much appreciated, I think its more than just a login problem Bob, I have probably muffed it up myself. As the net closes in on us all they seemed to want my name changed so they could ID me properly or something about one log in across the whole of Google services... there was something about legacy site that had been up a long time ( my uploads started 22nd Oct.2007 ) and my you tube ID is JohnDavis45 so in an attempt to comply with what I thought was a profile update using my name John Davis is my channel name now but it appears to be a complete new account and although I can find the old account I can not sign into it or alter anything. On trying to rescue it for about 5 hours yesterday I was going round and round in a loop filling in passwords and I am not a robot boxes Although I felt like a bloody Robot at the end of it!
One thing they asked was the email address I used to open the account, I found out it was [email protected] but apparently that address has now been deleted from their system.
You cannot talk to a human you can air the subject on a Google forum but there is no help available.

Download them all and then create a new channel.. The amount of time you've spent trying to circumnavigate the log-in problem is far greater than how long it would take to do as I suggested in my previous post..It's only 30 uploaded videos isn't it.?
That's all I can find under JohnDavis45 on YouTube ! You could download all of them in under an hour...(and the 16 play-lists of other people's videos, you only need to copy/paste the url for those..)

Baz I think I have already created a new channel that is why (I think) I cannot get into the old one. I think I had 80 videos in total , maybe some pages already disappeared ? I really don't know I am not very clever with computers but even if I could do as you say it would take 3 weeks to upload that lot again.

The video of the ZB S10 is on you tube channel John Davis and not JohnDavis45

Google will let you have multiple accounts, and don't insist on your real name (they tried that a while back, then did a U-turn on it).

Basically, all you really need to recover a Google / YouTube account is access to the email address on the account. But even if you don't have that, there are other password recovery options if you know roughly when it was set up, what services you used etc.

As far as I know they never delete gmail accounts, so [email protected] will still be live. But you may have to go through the password recovery process on that first!

Hi Marc, Thank you for your interest and concern it is much appreciated , The you tube recovery thing just goes around in a loop I have spent 5 hours till my head was spinning and could get nowhere you reach a point where you are presented with two boxes one for your first name and one for your surname as my a/c ID is (or was ) JohnDavis45 this is not acceptable to progress the recovery also it asked when I started the a/c and it says on my site (when I can find it! ) 22nd oct 2007 414subscribers and 217,955 views I also saw something saying the a/c [email protected] was deleted none of the info I can offer seems to help the situation you cannot talk to a human unless you want to advertise and its all a Bl££)y mess.
I think my big mistake was, when they asked me to fill in something about one password for all your google programmes I created unintentionally a new account and now they associate [email protected] only with the new account, I never did use the google email address I had to have when I signed up for the tube.
