This is where you can rest a while and discuss anything - doesn't have to be steel guitar related!

Anyone know what has happened to the country shows on Sky channel 280? they seem to have vanished.

I noticed a few of the same programmes on "Showcase", which is a Freesat Channel. Don't ask me about numbers!
I gave up watching them a long time ago. The quality was terrible- and I mean than in both technical and production terms.
Cheers

Got to agree with you on production quality, but the playing of Gary Carpenter, Dicky Overby etc made them worth watching, particularly when you count up the number of times we see a pedal steel in British produced shows. y

Hi Malcolm, they are still there but on another channel. I don't have Sky but I can find out for you, maybe some else can tell you before I can.

Still can't find the Marty Stewart Show/Tru Country/Country's Family reunion , is it just me being thick or are they now off air as Rural TV seems to have gone?

Malcolm,
This is from the Horse and Country Forum:-
"We did intend on bringing "Quilt in a Day" back to H&C this month, however unfortunately we recently received notification from RURAL TV that they have decided not to broadcast on Sky 280 / FreeSat for the time being. This meant that, as of 1st Jan 2011, we currently don't have the rights to show any of their programming on H&C, which includes "Quilt in a Day". As we only found out about this shortly before Christmas, it wasn't possible to change our listings before the Christmas break, so there will be some inconsistencies for the first few days of January, for which we sincerely apologise. We aim to rectify our listings asap.
We are sorry for any disappointment this situation has caused which was, of course, never our intention.
Best regards,
H&C "
Very disappointing news, especially missing the Wilburn's Show with Hal Rugg and Curly Chalker.
There is some Country and Irish however on Showcase TV - better than nothing.
Regards
Tony
