This is where you can rest a while and discuss anything - doesn't have to be steel guitar related!

We're hearing what bugs everyone, - let's have some counters to the waffle we have to put up with now.
I'll start it off:-
When you go into a restaurant and you hear the stupid waitress retort of "enjoy", I always reply with "thank". They give me a stupified look which gives a certain amount of satisfaction, i.e. tit for tat.
Lets hear what you use for "put downs."
Slim(Derek) with his humour, must be a master of these.

When I'm asked: "Do you have a Tesco Club Card/Shell Drivers' Card/etc (or "Would you like a dessert?") at all?" I tend to say: "No, not even partially". Which usually gets me a puzzled look, and a death stare from she-who-must-be-obeyed.

My wife and I were sitting with 2 friends in the appalling Dennys diner in Irving (Dallas) a few years ago, and the waitress would mimic us saying "please" and "thank you" in a dreadfully phoney English accent. She was starting to get on my nerves, and I said to her in my worst American Bronx accent - "I like you. People say I've got absolutely no taste, but I like YOU". I got kicked under the table by the boss, but it worked and the blasted woman stopped her pi$$ taking from then on.
I would be hard done by to find worse food anywhere in the USA apart from the equally awful Wendys.
