Have you noticed they're not so nervous in the cold weather, must have something to do with the well know effects of cold...not exactly uplifting..

Actually this cold snap has shown how We have become soft.A couple of days of snow and the four car families cannot go to work or the children are unable to go to school.
When We were kids We had to wash and shave in cold water then a small bowl of porridge was consumed before doing a milk,or paper round(barefoot)then walk to school and back(ten miles) and then Help with chopping down a few trees for the fire so that Granny could make the soup.
It all became worth it later when we sat around the roaring fire at night and sipped our large single malt. The kids or today cannot get their fingers off the x box or the telly remote.I bet they do'nt even know one good malt from another.
Lest You are confused about this, the boys had to shave too

You missed the tin bath in front of the fire Billy!!!! Neither wonder we have a tree shortage mind you when my daughter was mm? well about 25years ago we had moved house late in the year and were a tad hard up! So father being father I sojourned off with a saw for a Christmas tree! Came back very late evening with one of Strathblane’s finest! I guess about eight feet and here’s the best bit! … In a Mini Clubman! :D I had more pricks than a gay bar! :D …. Speaking of bars ...a wee malt eh! Laphroig is the lifelong fav, The best of the Islay stables! … Frank’s Lin thinks it tastes like TCP hehe! but strangely there must have been a hole in the bottle if you get my drift! I bet she could do with it this week… two visits to the dentist! Oh! Dear! (We send our regards Lin! We’ll pass the hat round Frank)

We are supposedly experiencing our worst winter since winter began.
Some of our Younger readers may think so but I can remember two worse winters.before global warming was an issue
Think back guys and tell me the two worst winters You have seen
I will tell You my memories tomorrow.

Right ,Heepie ! You must have some b-----d up there on your side, the forecast here for Saturday is a massive temperature
drop to - 4 C , if so, it'll be the coldest since we've been here (6 years now ) ! :(
Billy, even though we lived in Kent when I was a nipper, what you descibed is how it was and as Bob said, the tin bath in
front of the fire, one bath a week, usually on a Friday night after tea and the trusty GEC radiogram which would belt out
Radio Luxemburg even though it faded in and out ! Those were the days when we actually had seasons not like now.
AND GUYS, DON'T FORGET OUR BOB'S BIRTHDAY TODAY !!!!
All the best from a warm (18C) at the moment and sunny Corfu !
