Back home and feeling fine

Tue Sep 11, 2012 6:36 am

Hi , Thanks to everyone for their best wishes and prayers on my recent scare with DVT. I was very lucky , I turned down a gig on the 2nd because my left calf was painful ,I went to the Kettering E&A and found that I had DVT, If I had played I would be dead for sure, two clots had broken away from the DVT and went to my lungs, Long story short I had been in hospital for 10 days and looked after very well, I'm now on Warfarin for the 12 months to lifetime. Got home last night and feeling fine. apart from a sore belly from injections and arms that are black and blue from the same I am feeling fine...a warning to us all.

John, glad to hear that you are on the mend and feeling fine. I guess that you are on Warfin that means no airplane trips and you need to take it easy mate.

Thanks Roy. as far as I can find out there should be no reason that one cannot fly while on Warfarin.

Thanks for the link John, that's Interesting. Sylvia's been on Walfin 3 years now and our doctor says no flying.

I never asked my doctor. just got on a plane and got off the other end!!! My uncle, though, was persuaded he could go if he found a local anticoagulant clinic at his destination?
