This is where you can rest a while and discuss anything - doesn't have to be steel guitar related!

has anyone noticed that Basil has not been posting as often as He did before.
I hope all is well with Him.
Always a source of information and inspiration.
Let's hear from You Basil.

Thanks for noticing Billy..I check the site every day, but have limited time available, I've even had to curtail my on-line lessons (Temporarily)..
Recently I've been away in Cyprus raising money for Marie Curie Nurses, (With Bob Brolly of Course, and over 150 members of our fan club )
The Athena Beach Hotel

Some of our fan club..

One of them.. Admittedly the majority are of the "Blue Rinse Brigade" variety..
And at this point in time I'm having to cope with our gigs AND handling all the musical arrangements and logistics for the Birmingham Symphony Hall Concert on July 3rd.
It's a FIVE hour show and the whole thing is live. Approximately 60-75 tunes/songs..
A MAMMOTH task communicating with the artists and coordinating the programme.
http://www.bobbrolly.co.uk/news-brolly& ... -2011.htmlAfter which I shall take a little break (Except for the Charity Gigs)..

Phew !!!.. Tracks all finished, music all printed and tabulated in comb-bound books for each player, next is the EASY part.
The logistics of this kind of venture are astounding. Bob is handling the organising of a six man camera team (Filmed in HD on 25 64gig P2 cards) a video producer, Bob's also arranging the transport and accommodation for the artists (The Jury's Inn on Broad Street) liaising between the sponsors and the hotel and Symphony Hall ticketing, All helped ably by our fan club secretary Patricia.
I'm looking after the musical side of things and Bob and myself are organising the PA and 24 track recording system and engineers.
So far about two months of effort. All culminating in a 5 hour show. We are at the venue from 8am. setting up etc. A LONG day and a hard day's night to follow..
When I return to forums, I shall be re-vitalised no doubt.(And possibly as vitriolic as ever)
