AI frightening.

It must be my age but I find some of AI rather frightening with what that can be done.
On YouTube is a project country artist named Vicky Venice, the voice is so good and the backings including pedal steel, I don’t understand how it’s possible to achieve what they have done.
Being a 1940s product beats me! I am sure you young ones understand it.

It's certainly been a frightening time for working musicians, and other creatives such as artists. (Not that I can say I am either).

I always find that AI music has this weird compression going on. Like you're listening to the lowest quality, dodgy mp3 in 2003. That and the blatant blips of pitch, which to be fair, can be heard in genuine music with the overuse of pitch correction. It will get better don't get me wrong, but whether steel can be consistently emulated will remain to be seen. A lot of AI steel sounds like an organ/synth at this moment, to me as a critical listener anyway.

Your average punter started to get duped into liking AI music over the last couple of years but that trend has started to be pushed back on. People have started to become purists for authenticity.

Your average AI generators only take simple prompts from users and generate a song with arguably stolen sound. Labels have started clocking onto it too. I don't know which direction they'll go in. Some are threatening to sue and others are thinking about creating their own AI music to cut out the middleman of signing artists. Strange times to be a musician.
