I run a small studio in the west of Ireland and ever since my friend Mike Keane died a few years ago, it's proving very difficult to source a good pedal-steel player for country tracks.

A singer who is recording with me these days is keen to have steel added to three or four tracks and I'm wondering if there's a player out there with a home studio (I use Sonar Producer 8.5) who might be interested in playing on some tracks and sending me a separate wav file that I could slot into the mix here? The songs are pretty well-known, e.g: The Old Rugged Cross, Silver Dew On The Blue Grass Tonight and The Hurtin's All Over.

We will of course pay a fee for your work.

Two drawbacks:
If time is pressing I can't do it, or maybe I can only do one song, and:

my recording equipment is not 'state of the art', consequently there is a very small amount of hum, which is not noticeable (to me) in the final mix.

Roy Campbell is based in the west of Ireland (goes by acerod on this forum). I'm on the east coast. Eddie Byrne (steady eddie) is in Sligo.

Thanks Paul. I've been in contact with Roy - he's in Turkey until October. Sent messages to Eddie B., Percy R. and Aidan C. - no reply! Basil H. has had the mp3s for over a month - promises, promises!

In a bit of a rush with this one so I've sent mp3s to the first reply I got from here.

Yes, Mike passed away a few years back as a result of a virus he picked up during treatment for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. A kind, gentle giant.
