Behringer VD 400

I'm hoping Danny maybe able help here, I believe he has the same delay pedal. I'm finding the repeat, when playing more than one note at a time, a little harsh, I've never used a delay before so not sure if I have it set right. I am using no repeat rate, 1/4 turn on echo and 1/8 on intensity. Reverb about 1/4 to 1/2. Any advise would be helpful

Hi Tony,
glad to be of any help if I can, here is my settings........

All settings

......and I go into the pedal from the FX send on the Steel King amp and back from the pedal to the FX return o the amp.
And this is how it sounded at a Gartcosh meeting, with those settings (with apologies for the honkin' intonation).......

Hope this helps a bit.

That's a really nice tone, the pedal sounds good. Like the way you played that especially lifting the last few bars. I'll have a go with your settings, it may be the way I have the in/out volume pedal with the amp/delay! I will start from scratch with everything tomorrow. Thanks for your help. Cheers

Thanks Danny, I have now, as you said, put pedal into effects send/return! So much better. As I've never used effects before I obviously didn't understand these input/outputs, its blinding obvious now!! Cheers once again.

Yes Tony,
It certainly seems a steelie's cross to bear; that never ending quest for 'The Tone'. A quote from Steve Earle sums us all up well; "I Ain't Ever Satisfied".

Anytime I got a new piece of kit, I would go into a rehearsal room and sit facing my amp. Then I'd start by going straight into the amp from the guitar, with the amp's settings at neutral, to get a feel of what the pickup sounded like. Then I would start adding the toys, Li'l Izzy, volume pedal, delay pedal, tweaking the tone controls to taste as I went along, and lastly I'd add the on board reverb. Then I'd take photos of all the settings, so I'd have a quick reference and starting point. Phew! What a pfaff!

Good luck with that quest!
