Yes, Basil. Thats the one. I became aware that it had been superceeded after I'd bought it! still, I've updated the driver and the software, so we'll see if I can get anything out of it? Thanks for your help.

Two salient points have just struck me:-
1/. How can 'tis be an abbreviation when "it is" has the same number of characters, and likewise with "it's" ?
2/. 'Nevertheless' does tend to test the various bulletin boards spell checkers.

Jason, you give up too easily, It's obvious that It DOES work, worldwide acclamations give testament to that, so the problem lies with what YOU are doing or not doing. Read the manual..
If you were near me I'd call 'round and help, have you not got any friends locally that are computer audio savvy ?

the manual is worse that useless, Basil. I can't even hear the click track! I have no audio feedback whatso ever. And it still wont record. I'n just not having a good month, and this is the last sodding straw!

Jason remove the USB cable and see if you can hear the click track. It could be that the program is not using or picking up the USB as the playback.

interesting idea, John. I may reinstall this from scratch and see if I can persevere. (anything to stop Basil telling me off ) I'll give that a try. Weird though.

Well, I finally got it recording, after a reinstall, and some serious playing around.
As it turns out, in the mixer is a setting for input 1 (Mic) or input 2(guitar). It's default setting is input 1. Still sounds awful though, lots of crackling like it's peaking out but it's very quiet. More fiddling, methinks
