Ipod/backing track plus tuner>>>

Fri Dec 24, 2010 11:17 am

Of interest to those of us that use I touch for backing tracks>>>> There is now a strobe (Peterson) "app" available for tuning IT DOES NOT HAVE THE NEWMAN PRESETS IN IT!! but THEY ARE COMING :D :) :D :) This means my quest for a Peterson tuner to send to my friend in the Seychelles is nearly over :) there should be lots of tuners around once we have sweetened tunings in software form>>>>>> watch this space>>>>

Happy Christmas John.

Don't get too exited John. You won't get all the fine extras like newman pre's and the accuracy and stability of the strobosoft for iMac or the flip. And remember, you need an input into the iPod touch as there's no mic. It's only about £5.99 and the reviews on ios4 are not good. It's ok on iPhone as an app to use if youre in a room and just put new strings on and haven't got a clue where your E note is. It has it's uses, don't get me wrong, I swear by Peterson and have Flip, V and Soft but was also told directly by them John, that you won't get a preset for that price!

I will wish the other members a happy Christmas here on this thread too. It's Christmas Day, been up since 4am as usual, and what am I doing, playing the steel in a minute before I get ready to dine out at Mums.

I'm sure I have insomnia. :)

I can't lay around otherwise my back seizes up. I blame it on the session 500 over the years.

See you in Jan.

:) Merry Christmas to u2 David and all you other forumites!!

No the sweetened tunings are not there yet David but they are coming>>>>>
This from Marshall Johns a few days ago........
Presets are not part of the app. Future in-app upgrades may offer this feature but Sweetened Tuning presets are only available in our hardware and StroboSoft computer software.

Regards,
Marshall

I reckon that "May" will turn into a "Will" eventually otherwise what use is the app. ??? 8-)

John

i have had many a discussion with John Norris (developer of the app) and he has always maintained that the sweetened version would not be available as part of the app. But I guess you never know!!

Hi Mike.
That is my understanding too, not for the existing price anyway.
