Postby jonshack » Thu Feb 22, 2018 4:50 pm

I'm co-hosting a live internet radio show this weekend with special guest BJ Cole, we will be talking and playing nothing but steel guitars for an hour (and spinning steel guitar records). It's gonna be fun! 'Tune in' (click the play arrow) at noon on Sunday 25th Feb.

Thanks for that info Jonathan :D
That sounds like the perfect soundtrack to accompany my "Full Scottish".

Jammin' with BJ :guitar: Gaun yersel, Jonathan :guitar:

Great show! I'm afraid I missed the start and jumped in as he was explaining his setup, was it his Kline or his Williams he was playing? Whatever it was it sounded excellent. Loved the Hawaiian tune he played and the clips were enlightening, too. The Buddy Emmons track; I take it the jazzy, "organ" was Buddy?

Yep, most enjoyable, pity it was only an hour. :guitar:

Thanks for listening Danny! it was a fun, chaotic, cramped, freezing cold, off the cuff, distracting, fascinating musical whirlwind of an hour. There were 6 people in a 6 by 8 room while we were trying to set up 2 PSGs! It was a blast to play a little bit with BJ and have a natter about his career and steel guitars in general. An hour is not nearly enough. BJ was playing his Williams through a 1951 Fender Champ. Yeah the Hawaiian song was the highlight for me, and getting to duet on Sleep Walk. That organ sound was Curly Chalker's recording of Wolverton Mountain. https://g.co/kgs/D73aNf
