Newby needs advice

Postby long8hanx » Sat Oct 24, 2015 1:58 pm

Just got a PSG and I wondered if anyone knows anybody up here in Leeds or close by who I can get advice from or possibly visit. There seems to be a heap of players south of Watford so I have a feeling of isolation up here near the Polar ice cap. Ta, in advance. long8hanx

You could try Steven Hicken - he posts regularly on this Forum - look him up and send hima Private Message.
The North East steelers meet every couple of months at the Buck Inn, Thornton Watlass, near Bedale. Only and hour or so up the A1. Unfortumatley we met a couple of weeks ago, so the next meeting will be on a day to be decided in January. We meet on Sundays, 12 till 4ish. If you are interested, drop me a message with your email address and we'll add you to the circulation list - news, info, backing tracks etc. I'm sure there must be other steelers in the Leeds area - I'm sure they'll make themselves known.
Welcome to the whacky world of steel guitar!

Thanx blokes for the timely replies. So there is life above Watford! But let me warn you I'm as the movie said an 'absolute beginner'. I have diligently studied the schematic and I'm now fairly sure where the leg's go. I have also never used a forum b4 so I don't really know if this thank you will go to all the people that were kind enough to reply or whether there will b some baffled Russian cosmonauts asking each other "Sto eta?" So Nick Steve and Tony thanx again. my address is [email protected]

You might want to double check that email address, it doesn't match what's in the database here...looks like there might be a slight typo in one of them.

Rocinante (one c) was Don Quixote's horse. It is also the name for the Greek Union of Cleaners and Housekeepers. (Ain't Wikipedia great!) Not sure of the significance of :ugeek: the double c :ugeek:
