Malcolm is in Hospital

Postby Willie Gamble » Sat Mar 14, 2015 9:22 am

Yesterday, I found out that Malcolm McMaster, a brother of the bar, was in Crosshouse Hospital. :(
I went down to visit him last night, he told me he was admitted on Thursday with acute pains in his abdomen, they ran some tests on him and did a few scans and found out that he had an infection in his Gall Bladder.
He is expecting to be kept in for a few days on an antibiotic drip to rid him of the infection then maybe thereafter they will remove the Gall Bladder.
He was in good spirits and we had a good old chat about steel guitar
I asked the nurse when she came round if they could re install his love for playing steel and she assured me that she would see what could be done.
We live in hope
I did pass on regards from all at Gartcosh
He is in ward 4a room 402 Crosshouse Hospital, Crosshouse, Ayrshire
he will probably kill me for putting this on the forum................oh well!

Thanks for the info Willie, so sorry to hear that I know all about that infection it is bloody painfull. When I was in the Bristol hospital they told me they would take my Gall bladder out that was seven months ago. I have heard nothing since and the infection has gone so I have no intention of letting my Gall bladder go now
Please send my regards to the old picker and tell him I am sending him a donut when he gets home ;)

I know that ward well I was in there almost a year ago. Best wishes to Malcolm for a speedy recovery. The staff are great, so he'll be well looked after. Donny.

Get well soon Malcolm. Really sorry to learn this news from Willie about our forum brother. I had the same problem some 30 years or so ago, and luckily medication worked rather than an op. Very painful condition. You're gonna have to take it steady old fella, and just spend more time relaxing. I told the boys in the MSA room this morning - Kyle, Jerry etc - that you had been hospitalised, and they were concerned that you might have dropped your wallet on your foot and broken your toes.

Sorry to hear about this problem Malcolm, get well soon, all the best.

Reminds me of the old joke: "Doctor, will I be able to play the steel (insert here instrument of choice) after the op?"
"Yes, why ever not?"
"Bloody marvellous, I couldn't before!" Boom boom!
