Too many,Rest In Piece notices on this sight, it's starting to worry me, and this Super Pro seems to be getting heavier, also the amp, need gig's to get money to buy something lighter, I end up knackerd by the time I've set up, where do we go from here?.

Hiya Slim get yourself a tambourine? triangle? we aint getting any younger son, cant do much about it, at least we have our memories of the days when getting gigs was not a problem, and lifting guitars and amps even less so.
I dont gig now (thank god) even moving my steel to let her in doors vacume is work enough.

Some musos had a roady or a groopy, can't afford the two, so i'm looking for a gropy, then it's all covered.
Even with a trolly you can only take it one piece at a time instead of amp in one hand and steel in the other, and your right, we did have the best of times, don't think it will come round again.
Ideal gig, twice a week with a band at a local gig, £100 a time and recording at home, some chance.

Slim,you know i got a superb lighter D10 that you should really think about..{ that's if I don`t PX it against a GFI Universal that I`m thinking about just waiting for the guy to get back to me,said he would send some pics ect this afternoon of the GFI but nothing as yet }...and my D10 is only 52 LBs in the case. And I also got a nice lighter amp that sounds great with steel.i don`t care what steel I have because it`s only going to stay at home for most of the time.

Slim, with old age and bad back problems I went down the road of lighter gear, Millenium SD10 ,lightest guitar I could find, MB200 amp(2lbs) built into home made cab with Sica neo speaker, combined weight of amp 21lbs.What a difference, no loss of tone or performance.The dinasours can bury their head in the sand , but technology has moved on, and I don't see the same people driving Morris Minors or Austin A35's (both great cars in their time) or have "Brick" mobile phones, so why kill yourself humping heavy gear? Indeed my best mate says" I've got a trolley"--my answer- the trolley does help but it doesn't lift it out of the car boot or carry it up steps etc and then the reverse after gig

Hi Malcolm, got a trolly now, but not sure if I want to change my Super Pro as I'm liking the C6th neck and it's not the same dropping the E's on the E 9th dont sound the same otherwise I would change for a L.D.G or some other make of Sho Bud.

Slim it`s not too late for you to take a chance and get a universal then you got the best of both worlds, and the one I have is a lot lighter and newer than your old pro plays and sounds great .

Slim your Bud is great guitar, but there are some much lighter D10s out there like Williams for instance.A lot of the Makers are doing light models these days, could be worth checking.

Slimbo, I carried that steel around for forty years, it is a heavy beast but it has the tone with the PF and TW pickups on it.you could get wheel fitted to the case, you would have less carrying to do, just in and out of the car or a flight of stairs. John

I agree with Malcolm 100% there are some great new lighter D10s and I am sure some of us would love to be able to afford a new or good used guitar, BUT!! if you are a pensioner like me my good mate Slim and the others that can not afford or want to spend a lot of money on another steel,and not only that how much longer will we be able to hump gear and play at our age Slim and I are both in our mid 70s and to me it seems pointless to spend out a lot of money and then retire and IMHO it would be a waste of money , that`s unless your are one of the more wealthy younger members who can afford to buy all the new gear and good luck to them. One day age will catch up to them and then they will know what we oldies are on about.LOL
