Sad news on Scotland's Davie Withers

Davie is one of our core members at the Scottish steel Guitar Workshop. He called me yesterday to say I won’t manage to the meeting as my wife passed away last night. We have known for some time his wife was not good but you never quite see that call coming!

Davie is gem of a fellow and him and his wife upheld the spirit of country music for many years, he once told me they learned the words of all of their songs never had the words in front of them or in their ears. Apart from his singing talent and Chet country guitar picking Davie is a very capable steel player!

His loss will be immense but he can be assured we are all thinking and praying for him at this time.

Sorry to hear about your very sad loss Davie. Hoping you find the strength to get through the pain of your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you at this very difficult time, and knowing many of your colleagues in the Scottish steel playing community, they will come together to give you the love and support that you will need.

Having only attended the Scottish Steelies meetings a couple of times I have not had the pleasure of meeting You, however I have heard a lot of glowing reports about You from other members of the bar.
