In a recent exchange of views and opinions on our hub, Mr Mitchell described me as abstemious, bowing to his advanced knowledge of the Oxford English Dictionary I took it as a complement, as I bathed in the afterglow of this, I realised I was completely ignorant as to the true meaning : Enter the previously mentioned tome,
" The definition of abstemious is someone who abstains or is moderate, often specifically in their consumption of food and beverage. Any person who suffers from anorexia is an example of someone who is abstemious. ". Thanks Danny, get it right up yeh ya

Ha, ha! My Lord Donald! How could you think your humble servant would disparage you in such a fashion. As the confusion involved an appreciation of 'the swally', I had deemed it pertinent to point out the steadfast, teetotal, qualities that differentiate you from the louche, inebriate sot, that is yours truly. And, might I add, that my understanding of abstemiousness dates back decades before said, 'Anorexia', was even invented. These modern dictionaries are somewhat lacking, I feel. One blames t'internet.
