Arnett Mills has sadly Passed Away

Postby sledge36 » Fri Jan 10, 2020 6:29 pm

For anyone who wasn't aware, Arnett Mills, was up until yesterday, when he passed on to Glory, a wonderful Steel Guitar player from Virginia. He played the steel from it's earliest days and backed just about all the Opry stars back in the day. In the early sixties Jack Greene offered him the job in his band but Arnett was a family man and chose to stay at home. I encountered him on Youtube some years ago and continue to listen to his music regularly. I had the pleasure of sharing an interaction on Facebook with him and the warmth of the man, the sheer humility at being appreciated was touching in itself. Anyone who hasn't heard of Arnett would be well placed to check out his music on Youtube. You won't be disappointed the way he stroked that Marlen. I just thought I would let anyone who knew of Arnett know that he is now no longer with us.

This is a name I didn't know, so this morning I checked him out on you tube, I was completely blown away by his touch and tone. I'm really sorry I had not heard of him before.
RIP Arnett Mills.
