Geoff, I can't believe this, I had just asked how things were doing. I understand the back pain, don't need to go into that. Take it one day at a time, and hopefully thing will improve. AWERABEST. Donny.

Hi Geoff, sorry to hear this news but it looks like the Docs have got a handle on it. Keep us informed of your progress.
I'm sure I speak for all the Brethren at Gartcosh, keep smiling and stay strong, but most of all keep playing and posting.

Many thanks for your support guys, it's good to have friends at a time like this. Just a matter now of going through it & hoping for the best. It'll be a hard road for a while, but that's life and I'm ready to face whatever it throws at me.

I haven't been playing steel for a few months now, it was just too painful, I'm pretty much pain free atm due to the pain relief but I am being cautious as I don't want to do any further damage to my back. Levers are the hardest as they put a lot of strain on the back. Anyway, I'm looking at different ways to play in the meantime as I'm really missing it. Maybe sticking to mainly pedals will be OK.

I got an email from Buck Reid yesterday which cheered me up & made my day. As you know I have been working on his tune Kelseys Song, I had intended on working on this a bit more & getting it better but due to the back had to settle for where I'd got to. I sent a link to Buck to let him hear how I'd got on with it & explained my current situation. This was his reply,

Hi Geoff! I am sorry to hear of your health issues and can tell you that my sweetie Tammy and I, will add you to our ever growing prayer list and there you will stay.

With regard to “Kelsey’s Song” , I am so impressed with your version and humbled that you would take the time to learn it. Thank you for sending Geoff, it means a lot to me especially being a song I wrote for my oldest daughter as you have said. Great job my friend!!

God bless you Sir and please feel free to write any time you wish.

Best,

Buck

I'm sure he's flattering me there but it was a touching response & really cheered me up.

What a nice man he is.
