My new guitar is being made in Swaziland, and the Swazi Lilangeni has dropped against the pound since Brexit. It is being made out of reconstituted donkey droppings.

The price of having our laws made by people that we elect rather than the unwashed and unelected Eurocrats is definitely worth a temporary blip in the exchange rates for me. Shares have gone through the roof since Brexit, so it's swings and roundabouts.

I take it that you are getting one of Bent's beauties Nick. On a serious side, if the exchange rates stay as they are, then my dealings with both the USA and China (whose transactions are in US dollars) will have to cease for the time being. A trip to Dallas and Nashville next March will also be unviable. I reckon that France and Italy will be potential leavers of the EU in the next 18 - 24 months.

Yes, Ken. I am a couple of months away from BenRom #17 - bird's eye maple, honey finish, 4+5. I've opted for a Sigler pedal at P4, which will raise 5,6 &7 half a tone and lower 9 a full tone, thereby putting the guitar into a modified C6. I decided on this not because I have any skill or knowledge of C6 (many say I have no skill or knowledge of E9 either!) but because the Franklin change seemed, by many accounts, to have a limited potential. There is certainly much more 'music' in the Sigler change IMO.
I'm really looking forward to receiving it, although, as my original post implies, the exchange rate has put about £300 on the cost, before tax! However, Bent seems to be making a modern, Canadian guitar, well reviewed, well made and significantly cheaper than his US counterparts. Had I been at this point with, say, a Show-Pro in production, the exchange rate might well have caused me to abandon my plans.
I don't think I'll keep my Sho-Bud once I've taken ownership of the new guitar. I don't really have the space and I hope I can offset some of the cost of the BenRom with the sale of the Sho-Bud.
I'm hoping Bent will put a post on the US Forum with Dale Rivard giving it the once over, but as I've specified longer legs on the guitar (I'm 6' 3" and Dale seems a diminutive figure from what I've seen) maybe this won't be possible.
And, with a couple of months to go before final payment and shipping and insurance costs, I'm hoping the exchange rate will improve somewhat!

Nick, that sounds like a beauty you've got heading your way. I hope that the exchange rate changes in your favour when the time comes to ante up. Also, glad to hear your having a Sigler on there. Sir Bob Adams, the polymath, has changed my Franklin to Sigler and I'm eager to explore the possibilities when I pick it up next month. I can forsee this change becoming popular
