My 1975 'Bud will stay with me until I turn my toes up. I did thousands of gigs and sessions with it, and always loved the tone. But mine had aluminium necks, and I lost count of the number of players who told me that it wasn't a real Bud as it didn't have wooden necks. But the guitar never let me down apart from one time when the thread stripped on the rear of the right endplate. I'm glad that Sho~Bud experimented with metal necks on the Pro 111 range.
I won't be buying a new Bud I'm afraid as I'd be happy to stick with my Adams reconditioned Pro 111, but if I was to buy a new vintage reproduction guitar, it would be the Emmons Resound 65. The build quality is incredible, as is the tone.
