That's a fascinating read, Ken - thanks for posting it. I've often wondered about the construction of the various different makes and models, and what makes each one better/worse. It's particularly interesting to note Emmons's driving desire to reduce size and weight, which I can fully understand given that my Sho-Bud D10 in its case weighs in at nearly 40kg. I ponder every time I take it out whether the handle will snap before my back does
