I've waited a few days to pass comment on Reg's passing. As I've said before about others, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. What a wonderful man and brother he was. Nothing was too much trouble and his kindness knew no bounds.
Willie and I invited Reg into our company whilst in Dublin. Up till then he watched the show during the day and was then ensconced in his room because the person he was sharing with wasn't into socialising. From that day onward, Reg was with us at nearly every festival apart from when he went to Thailand. We loved his company and his sense of humour. He loved spending time with us and volunteered to drive when we started taking the Ferry.
My thoughts go to Lesley and all of his family at this trying time. He bore his illness with bravery, dignity, and stoicism. He will be sadly missed at Gartcosh and Dublin but most of all he will be missed by Willie,Malcolm, Graeme and myself for the laughs we used to have on our many journeys together.
God Bless Reg, wherever you are, get your picks on and play your heart out.
