I didn't know Kenny personally but I knew Him to be a fine performer.

Baz, That's sad news, yet another UK country stalwart leaves us.
He gave so many people so much pleasure.
Godbless ya Kenny.

OMG - the news this week is just horrendous. Kenny Johnson was possibly the best country singer ever to come out of the UK. That is just really bad news Barry.

That brings back some memories Ken, Kenny at his best, if that one had recieved the airplay it desrved he would have had a major hit on his hands, but hey! It was country music and British, stuff like that was shunned by the music press and trade in general.
He will be missed.
Godbless him.
Dave.

Yep, he was a great singer and a very nice guy too wasn't he Dave. I like his sense of humour. I played the Peterborough Festival on the same bill as Kenny many years ago. He was on just before us, and did an absolutely storming set, featuring City Lights as an encore. It was a great number then in those days, and I said to him that if there was any justice in this life it would chart. He just laughed and said that Scouse singers had had their day in the charts. :D A lovely man and a real loss to UK country music.

(PS I have decided to do this number as a steel guitar instrumental and put it on my album as a tribute to Kenny).
