To thoes who new him, and some who did'nt, we lost Karl Benson last week to a Aeoratic Anurisam at his home in Petersfield.
Karl was a well known bass player, and harmony singer with The Yellowstone Picknic Band, Frank Jennings Synidicat, Shawn Michael Band, and of late, Charlie Lansborough Band.
Over the years he has worked with many American artistes at festivals, and Wembley on various occasions.
Sorry I cannot remember all the artistes he has played with over the last 40 odd years, but he was well known as a guy with a great disposition, and a good friend to everyone who knew him.
He will be sadly missed on the scene by all.
Our condolences go out to his family at this sad time.
The funeral is on the, 29th September, United Reform Church, College Street, Petersfield. at 2pm.
Sorry, dont have a post code at this time.

Slim - that is terrible news. Karl (or Colin his real name) played bass on loads of recording sessions in the 70's that I was lucky to be on with him. Great player and harmony singer. That is really tragic news. There were 4 of us that did a load of work in Wales in particular. Karl, Bob Pierce (drums) Drew Taylor (fiddle & piano) and myself on steel and lead guitar. I am saddened by this news. :(
