It's a pity that some of the good threads from the old site can't be imported into this one. Never mind, we will just have to build this up.

Unfortunately there is currently no convertor available from the old forum software (YaBB 2.4) to this one ( phpBB 3.0.7), and I'm not sure if there ever will be.

There is a round-about possibility using different software again (SMF) as a stop-gap, i.e. Yabb - SMF - phpBB as convertors exist for each step of this route, but even if it were possible, I'd need a database backup from the old site.

I have to say it made me smile!! Sarccy cow! .... but for sure I do understand Ken there's a wealth of info that we may have to re-build! but we've been here before, we did all this at the end of 2008 Hopefully we can do it all again!

perhaps copying & pasting the interesting topics or putting the links up from the old forum would do ?

I wanted to copy/paste all my posts from the other forum, BUT I'm expelled (AGAIN) and can't get to the (Members only viewable) pages..
Sean Doherty (Shaun) is no longer re-instating expelled members..

A temporary "MODERATOR" Status would resolve the problem, and as I have 12-15 hours EACH and every day at my computer, it would only take me a couple of days to transfer most of the important relevant posts..

Baz, I have asked Sean to close the old site down as soon as possible and remove the BSS logo so that could now be the reason you cannot get back.

We should take advantage of Basil's kind offer, and get him re-instated if only for a couple of days and then shut the old site down forever.

can we get a backup of the old site before it is closed down, so we have the data to import if/when we find the way to do it?
