National D8 console

I love my National D8 but it's all original. I don't want to drill holes for legs and when I tune up I have to be very careful not to put too much pressure on the machine heads as I don't know when the plastic tuner knobs will break.

I am looking for a National D8 with legs and necks at different levels. Any condition even if it is falling to bits and needs TLC.

Thanks for that Basil. That is a most useful video. That's one of the things that prevents me from doing a quick tune from C to C# on the 7th string. The tuners turn freely enough without strings but as soon as you load them more and more pressure is required to raise the note and that's when I worry.

I would still like to keep an open eye for another one though. I let one go a few months back and now wish I had not. Oh well. We learn.

Yes it was. Some things need sorting but not a bad guitar. Keep dropping back to my National though.
