Hi Roger, If you are a short ass like I am, it makes a huge difference when the guitar is the correct height for you.
It not only involves shortening legs, (Usually front only) but you will also have to shorten the length of your pedal rods.
I shortened the legs on both my guitars myself, but I had to enlist the engineering genius Bob Adams to put a bit more thread on the pedal rods for me
Asleep at the steel

If you remove the rubber feet on the 2 front legs, and saw the excess amount of leg off (so that they don't protrude past the pedal bar), the steel will now sit about 3/4" lower at the front, with the pedal bar flat on the floor. There should be enough thread on the pedal rods to allow for this 'adjustment'.
It's a bit drastic, I know, but from what I have read about the GFI Ultra, they don't have conventional legs, so there is no inner sliding tube.
It's an easy mod on steels that use conventional legs, just take the rubber tips off and slide the inner tube up so that it is level with the bottom of the pedal bar.

Now I had the opposite problem with my GFI Ultra which was sorted by Mr Sheffield guitar builder Dave Wheelhouse who had the legs and pedal rods extended for me and like every job Dave takes on the outcome was perfect

I did think of doing what Zebedee said, but dont really want to ruin it for other players if I sell it at some point. Ideally I could have shorter legs and rods and keep the longer ones as well.
I do really like the looks and size of the GFI though so maybe I'll have a go at it

Hi Roger
I have the opposite problem, I need legs 2 inch longer.
GFI supply standard legs at 26 1/4 in length , but when you order from new you can get legs & pedal rods either 1 or 2 inches shorter or longer.
I have ordered a new set of legs and pedal rods from Promenade music, GFI suppliers in the UK and am waiting delivery.
That's an option for you
BTW, These are being made as we speak and a new set is costing me £150 inc shipping and delivery

Hi Roger
Why not try GFI direct? I've dealt with Bob Diekmeier, and purchased a couple of knee flags and am currently awaiting 2 pull kits. They're very helpful and swift.

Hi Danny
Thought they would cost more if they were shipped from the States
