Six-string project parts wanted!

Postby tony boadle » Tue Jan 12, 2016 11:05 am

Here's a long-shot request from County Cork in Ireland! Some background first......I've recently converted my six-string Recording King lap steel to a basic PSG, using a three-lever Deusenberg Multibender. Two levers are pulled down by rods and pedals, the third by a knee lever. The stops are built into the Multibender itself, the tuning (lo-hi) is B C# E G# B E, the pedals raise the G# and B, and the lever drops the lower E. This enables me to imitate basic PSG sounds, and I have to say I'm very pleased with the result. Pics available if you're interested in the mechanics.
The problem is, I'm now becoming increasingly frustrated by the limitations of this set-up...basically, I'm hooked and I want more! So I've decided to build a six or ten string from the ground up. And there's the rub. I'm retired and on a limited budget, and everything in the PSG world seems so darn expensive. I'm a cabinet-maker with good mechanical skills, and can modify/adapt most parts, but the changer mechanism might be too complex for me. Does anyone out there have any changer parts, in any condition, that I might be able to adapt? In fact, any parts at all that might be of use? As I said, just a long-shot request.
Regards from Ireland,
Tony
PS: As an ex-pat from Bristol, I well remember visting the home of Alan Morgan, way back in the 70's. He proudly showed me his new ZB (I think) PSG and played a quick burst of Rose of San Antone. The seed must have been planted then!!!

Tony, it cost £8.26 to post and its on its way, I want nothing for the bits all I would ask is you build something that looks half decent as these are genuine "Emmons" pedals and deserve to be used on a playable guitar ( you could offend people both sides of the Mississippi ).
please mail postage to,
