Tom, doesn't appear to be any amps on forum at moment, but keep checking, also check ebay.Everyone has different ideas on amps, I personally used a Peavey Nashville 400 for many years, then used rack system of Peavey Profex and DPC750, then Nashville 112 ( now my spare amp), am currently using GK MB200 amp in custom built cab with Sica neo speaker, a powerful 200 watts but extremely light ( 21 Lbs appx.) Have heard good reports about Roland Cube 80xl, but not tried one at gigs, they are around £320.You can go to other end of spectrum and go for the Telonics pre/power amps if you have recently won the lottery.In short you you pay your money and you take your choice, good luck with your hunt.
Ps if you want to try my set up I will be playing in Newcastle 16th April at Live Theatre, you are more than welcome to try it.

Hi Malcolm thanks for the advice :) yeah I'd love to try your set up! I'm gigging that night but just over the water at the sage. So maybe we could find a good time to before or after the gig. Are you playing with Shippy? I think he mentioned you.

Tom, You don`t have to part with 300quid plus for an 80xl 80 watt cube ,The previous model 80X will give you exactly the same for steel with all the FX you could ever need and they are available on Ebay for about 150 ish. I have two that I have fitted with JBL E120 speakers and I am a very happy camper :).....
I also have two cubes fitted with the Telonics speakers but they don`t seem to suit my Emmons as well as the JBL`s. allthough 6 string guitar sound fantastic through the Telonics...

Hi Tom, there have been some big (240w) Peaveys for sale at little money recently. I got a Vegas for less than 150 and there was another on the forum a couple of months ago for even less. They are old amps, but still do the thing with the advantage for guitarists of a second channel. On the other hand, a Fender Twin has always been popular and might suit your other work too. John, as he told you, has Cubes and they sound great for smaller gigs (bet you don't part with your twin though John?)
Fender SM T-8: Shakey 10-plank: Ricky 6: Harmony H7 R Smeck,: plus "home-mades"
Fender D-10: Sierra D-11:
Resos- Goldtone 8 string & Regal 7
FenderTwin: Peavey Delta Blues: Marshall AS50R: DigiTech>GK MB200->Telonics 15"
