PSG Amplifier

I am in the market for an amp suitable for the PSG. If anyone has anything to sell, or any tips please let me know.

Hi John, it kinda depends on your needs, as well as your budget, will you be gigging? if so, you wouldnt want anything smaller than the peavey nashville 112, the odd one pops up on here second hand, around the 300 / 350 mark, its an 80w dedicated psg amp, they cost about £599 new, check out gerry hogan or ted nesbitt, also ive heard good reports the the 80w roland cubes, not tried one personally tho, i think they are around the £399 mark, for just playing in the house, a smaller amp will be fine, as long as there is enough clean headroom, 'peavey backstage' as does a 'peavey bandit' springs to mind, a lot of guitar amps tend to break up too easily with psg, if you can afford it though , check out the roland cube 80 and peavey nashville 112, good luck in your search

The Roland 80XL Cube is £299 new. It blows the Peavey 112 completely away and is much cheaper. The clean channel delivers so much for a lot less money than the Peavey.

I've been using a ZT Club for about a year now small, light only 22lbs, powerful, don't need to mess with middle sweep like on my Nashville 112 (which is now just my practise amp).

Thanks for your helpful replies! I'll try out the Cube and the ZT, more in my budget and probably pop up on Gumtree and eBay a lot more.
Do you use an additional cab with the ZT, Allan? I'll budget for the steel amp as I'm in the market for something really special for my guitar. I'm thinking a Swart or Carr!

£299 for roland xl cube, that is a great price, i really must get to try one, i have heard good reports on them, and i would imagine it would be the most easily available of the amps mentioned on this thread, is anybody on this forum actually using one? i would like to hear a review,

I'm still really swung by getting the cube/ ZT and a separate amp for guitar or whether to get something silverface and heavy - vibros/twin/pro.
Any thoughts on that? I like the idea of the cube for the built in FX, which mean it'd be great for practice. Could I get away with something smaller
live if I went for the two amp route? A Cube 60?

As i already stated, i havent tried the Roland cubes, but my gut feeling would be NO dont downsize from the 80, at only £299, why would you want to? its not about total output, its about having enough clean headroom, and then some more in reserve, i know the 80w nashville is more than enough load onstage, but i always mic it up and let the PA do the work, putting out my sound, i never subscribed to the idea that you need a 300w amp onstage, un mic'd, we [the Jesse Conlon band] always keep fairly low on stage, get a nice balanced sound, then mic everything, so, from my experience, i think you should choose the 80 watter over something even smaller,
