Providing it has not been laquered, I would recommend '
Autosol' (Halfords etc.), a clean soft cloth and plenty of ..elbow grease

, finish it off with a yellow duster. Its the best product I have found to clean up most Ali (end plates) and other chromed parts.

autosol is very good - my old BSA A10 crank case covers always came up nicely (motorbike long gone now, sadly).

Mothers aluminium polish from the USA is good too. Similar to autosol, but a lot more of it for your money (comes in a tub).

Hi
Yep autosol....It's a chemical cleaner and not an abrasive, so don't use it on gold plated hardware, it'll disparu' it quick as you like.
