Hello everyone
I have just bought my first PSG and need a tuner for it.
Has anyone a got a Peterson HD in good condition that I could buy?

Andy, buy the Peterson clip, it can do nearly all the same things as HD, smaller and cheaper. Other one to consider is the Peterson Stomp, excellent tuner, not as bulky as HD.

Thanks Malcolm
I actually like the larger size of the HD and am hoping to pick one up on the secondhand market. If I can’t find one, I’ll certainly go and look at the stomp.

Spoke to the Peterson importer yesterday. The Strobostomp HD has exactly the same electronics and accuracy as the new stroboplus HDC, with a big and much clearer display. Also, the stomp is sold out of the box with over 100 sweetened tunings, including SE9 for the PSG. Runs on a PP9 battery (10-12 hours) or mains via mobile phone type charger. The metal button on the front is to mute the output if the tuner is daisy chained, but it works fine as a stand alone tuner. It lacks a metronome, built-in stand and the tripod mounting, but nothing else. Costs a lot less than the new stroboplus too. As you suggested, this looks like a very good option

Yep, my very good friend Sue Haslam in Chicago is the Peterson Tech sales rep, and person you would talk to if you call factory with any tech problem, let me try out both the clip and stomp at the factory last time I was in Chicago, as I previously said I went for the clip, small compact, all the settings the Stomp has, no need for cable/ power cable, just clips onto machine head, reasonable size display. No matter which one you go for, all excellent tuners, I recommend the MA9 setting, best and most accurate I have had, previously used SE9 SP9 OE9.

I recently got my grubby little hands on a Stroborack (cos I`m a rack guy). The Se9 has made a huge difference to my vague tuning with the old Korg Rack tuner which I had for around 15 years. (still a good tuner, but nowhere near as accurate as the Peterson)

Down load MA9 off the Peterson Webb site Davie, think you will like it.
