Hi,

I'm looking for a lap steel, nothing too expensive, for someone starting out. I'm based in London, but am happy to pay for insured postage, too.

Matt

Hi,

I am about to put a couple on ebay. One is a Jedson 6 string. This is was going to put up for an auction as I am getting many conflicting opinions on what its worth. Its the famous one played by Dave Gilmour that comes with three legs and a case.

The other is an 8 string by Bob Bennett. This one also has a case. Its a good one but the fingerboard (I know it isnt really one...its the thing under the strings that gives the fret positions....if it had frets....please feel free to correct me on the right name for this) was made of cardboard and then laminated with plastic. This hasn't worked out in the long term and its marked and creased. Its only half a dozen years old. Doesnt affect the sound of course. Not sure what this instrument is worth. Again, its an ebay auction case because of this cosmetic flaw. Let me know if you are interested and I will send photos. Thanks.

Unless, perhaps that irrepressible presenter of Junior Showtime Bobby Bennett tried his hand at making an 8 string lappy. :?
