Hi All,

I am in need of nylon tuning nuts for my MCI Pedal Steel. I am hoping to try out some experimental copedents.

I have sourced 3/32" rod, and 4/40 die, but can't get 3/16" nylon hex rod anywhere. Also my tuners are rather long at 1 3/8". I can get shorter ones, but this would make tuning very tricky, if not impossible.

If anyone knows where I can get the rod, or complete 1 3/8 tuning nuts I will be very grateful. I am in the UK.

Thanks.

what you can do as I have seen on the "William's " you fit two short ones and the first one you drill out for clearance the second one threads on to the rod......

It’s getting harder to locate inch size stuff theses days.

You may find 5 mm hex rod easier. (Nylon, ABS or Delron)

It’s only about 9 thou of inch larger.

Gerry Hogan sells tuning nuts http://www.steelguitars.co.uk/ in packs of 10. They’re plenty long enough and I like the material they’re made with which seems slightly oily in feel. Takes a bit of experimentation to get the correct clearance holes drilled as the pilot hole is very small.
Cheers

Go onto EBay,put 2.5 nylon spacers that’s where I get all mine from, and they are very cheap, also they come in different lengths.
