Hi all,

Having just read Ken Byng's comments on the Sheffield guitars made by Dave Wheelhouse, I can happily say "spot on".

I acquired Sheffield 01 (originally made for Kevan Bartholomew) just over a year ago. The layout is an E9th neck on a double body, like an LDG, but with the help of Dave it now has most of the changes of more modern guitars. Sustain? Play a chord and go and put the kettle on - it'll still be ringing when you get back! Saves having to play all sorts of intricate nonsense to fill the voids - hit a nice sound and let it ring.

I'm no John Haughey, but I can appreciate a good sound when I hear one. As for acquiring one, there's likely to be a long queue!

Keep plugging them Ken - even better, get one.

Bob, down in Somerset, for those that might want to hear a Sheffield.

Well guys - Malcolm's computer and his guitar are constructed from the same material. A Hewlett Packard computer sustains about the same as a plastic MSA.

My Goodness this Bill Lawrence pickup has a sin to answer for does it not! Things have got a tad aerated here! But it has been very interesting to go through!

I have been round the whole build thing, trust me, talking to CNC producers, casting shops, and, and!!! The question is how long would it take to get a return on your investment when what we are getting asked for over here is a competitive priced starter ‘Pro’ PSG, a very long time I would suggest! Far be it from me to appear negative, the very last thing I am where steel is concerned, but it is a consideration!

Dave is producing a superb instrument in the Sheffield and I am the first to promote it (as well he knows) but it is the discerning player’s instrument and very far from the pockets of the new player!

Who knows! Between us we may pull something off in the due course of time! … As for Dallas, yes you all know I would love to be there but as Ken says it is not possible at the minute, God Willing I will get there yet! ….

Parking all that and coming back to our Malcolm and the Tupperware Guitar! For me it has turned out to be one sweet instrument to play, it does what it says on the tin and has encouraged me to play more recently than I’ve done since the seventies, even the back neck! So for that I have to thank MSA! And of course ‘Our Ivor’

Does it let us down on tone sustain or anything else?? You be the judge!

We miss you beside us Malc. Please don’t be a stranger in 2015
