Hey Guys...I just got a phone call , from Jeremy Clarkson....They are trying to get in touch with Mr Byng. They want him to challenge the old Nurburgring lap record in his new Mercedes sports car...I told them there's more chance of me having the top player spot in Dallas...That's funny ,....because I can' play a note on a steel guitar...They say money can't buy love...Well take it from me ...It can't buy talent either, so I'm never likely to be on Youtube with my steel....I suggested they also hire Malcolm to do tyre changer...Boy if he shows up in a skirt...Hell the camera guys will get an eyeful..........
Problem is though...there is no garages, round the lap.....That car of Ken's will run out of gas, half way round.......Better send the man in the red cloak with Rudolph...He has more chance...............So sorry, Mr Ken...You sure, can play a steel........but better leave the driving to........ Ivor the Driver.......

Haven't long been in from a pub gig tonight. Something that resembled a Wild West saloon fight took place!!! Didn't have my steel there thank goodness - r&r gig with just a Tele. I had to put a size 10 in the wedding tackle of an idiot who encroached too close to our playing area. Why do people have to want to take on the world when they get drunk? Why can't they just enjoy themselves like everyone else? Once 2 idiots kick off then it becomes a free for all. The good thing about playing a Tele through a Roland Cube is that I can wrap my gear up in less than a minute. The landlady knocked out one guy tonight, and I am going to remember not to ever argue with her.

Anyway - back to cars. Ivor - the difference between you and I is that you drive wearing a lead diver's boot on your right foot! I might be slower than you, but I will get there in one piece. My Merc does shift I can tell you, but wifey still hates it and I am not out of the dog house yet for buying it.

Don't worry too much about Malcolm McMistress giving an eyeful in his skirt. 1" less and he would be his own sister!!

Frank Carson - News At 10.00 - looking for a decent chauffeur.

Ken...Just what kind of Gigs are you taking on..........An old boy like you needs to be playing in more refined places.....like nursing homes or Garden Centre's....I bet you could get some nice gigs lined up, for lunch time with,..... KEN on E9,.....Very few fights take place in those places...EXCEPT, maybe in the Car park........Pensioners with new cars, rubbing off each other.........I have often thought that would be a good place to play, during the day...Lots of people visit Garden centre's to spend the day, and have lunch ..A guy could get a £100 for a couple of hours playing.....I better have a word with Ted ...He could be a victim for that kind of Gig. Ted is a good melody player, and would please all the people there.......
Malcolm ..should even look at that deal...Lots of nice places in Bonny Scotland, to visit..........

To-night Sunday the 21 st December ...Ted and his side kick, Davy on keyboards ....Will be the Headline act at the...... TYCO TAS dinner, in the Temple golf club.....
There is Christmas dinner for everyone....I have ordered Steak...Turkeys don't eat Turkeys.............Highly unlikely ,there will be any fights...But you never know...Nowadays it could even be women fighting.........Ken I use to drive Frank Carson to many Gigs, in Belfast and surrounding area's...I can even do his entire act ....Frank was a very funny guy...Even off stage

Mixture Ivor. Social clubs, private clubs and the dreaded boozers. I don't mind playing in some pubs and bars as they can be quite enjoyable with the right crowd in. Last night was just rowdy unfortunately - youngsters who can't handle their drinks. Once they were kicked out it was a good night with loads of dancing and singing from the punters. My Sunday afternoon gigs have been put on hold for a little while as my regular singer takes the winter months off and spends 3 months in Goa in the heat. I still average 3 gigs a week, and don't travel any further than 10 miles to any of them, which is handy. Nursing Homes?? Garden Centres?? No thanks!!!!

Yep - agree about Ted. Very melodic and tasteful player. I haven't had the pleasure of hearing the McMistress play, he won't venture out and play steel in the cold weather in his skirt. People would think he's had a sex change!!!

Yes I know Ivor - that's why I said it. You told me at your house a few weeks ago. :D :D

Mr Nesbitt was on fire to-night at the TYCO Suzuki dinner. His new Mullen, Royal Precision , really has superb tone....Anyone out there who has Mullen guitar,.....,Get yourself a Telonics type 84 pickup, for it........It really does come alive with one of those in there........Ted was playing through a Peavey 112 and a DD3.......I sure wish I could play like that old boy

Yes Ted has good hands, and that's what give's him that great tone. He has a good choice of notes and has extremely good taste. One of the better E9 players that I have heard in the UK. :D

Ted is a happy bunny behind a Mullen! Well done that man!

I suggest an 1/8” of cheap insurance to save a potential £360

Last week I rushed into a supermarket to grab a sandwich, approaching the shelves I went into my pocket for cash, my keys fell out and something black shot ten feet across the floor like a bullet and disappeared under the cabinet, I picked up my keys and couldn’t believe it (left with half a useless key!) Fortunately not the one I was driving. I explained to security and proceeded to scramble bare armed underneath to no avail, later that day I discovered a replacement was going top cost me £360 so the following day I returned (50 miles from home) with my ‘mines rescue’ gear and much to the staff and numbers of customers amusement I finally retrieved the fob and a bucket load of muck! I was unaware that there was a little slide release on these keys, so I now have a tiny square of heavy stick Velcro in the space. No possible repeat!

Worth looking at gents! 24hrs of thinking about a £360 pointless spend was not fun!
