I think Mr Adams should delete all this stuff...I mean this idiot can't spell , so the post was void , before it even started....Anyone who has pickups is not selling....MR Telonics will have better ones at Dallas...I have ordered ten...All my MSA guitars will be fitted with the new ones...........
Mr Bing will need about thirty,.... to kit out his line-up.........Malcolm....You need to buy the XL.....Its a shame to see that guitar sitting there for sale , and no buyers.....Sadly Ken says he's done for now. I still think he could be interested ....... Seems that Infinity has blown him away....It should do....Its a mega sounding guitar..........I offered to buy it from Ted on several occasions........He never did take me seriously, enough to bring it up....I really didn't think , he would part with it....You sure can't roll up and buy one over the counter.........So it looks like it will just have to be another Rolls Royce,... from MSA ...Maybe an SD 10 like Malcolm has ...Except you can't buy one of those either......Maybe my luck will change soon.

It is humorous at times albeit a bit of a wallet fight.
I don't know whether it's sensible to online chat about some of the things is a good idea, but each to his own!
I would be glued to security cameras at all times after posting some of this.

But anyway, going back to the 'Laurence' want-ad.... There's a few around, and it's always worth trying the British Steelies forum, but I think there are better choices and the Telonics team have some of the best at the moment. There's probably too much choice in my opinion but at least you can slide out a pup on some steels to try them out without soldering and loosening strings, ( which only takes a few minutes anyway ). I think the Telonics Type 84 are hard to beat from their range, but what works on one steel will not make another type of steel sound good. Another factor to consider is your amp tone, your ears and mainly, your steel playing abilities.

It's good to have new toys though, especially at Christmas.

Mr Hartley.......You got it just right......I personally think the Telonics type 84 has a sweet sound to it....Not a lot different to a BL 710 on the MSA.
Like you say, ....The pickups all sound different on various guitars.........I suppose it all depends on what time of the day, you are listening to the sounds...

BOB ... I spell Kens name with an "I" when I want him to have a nice bright sound....Spell it like its supposed to with a "Y" and it sounds more mellow
just like his Show Pro.....I'm trying to convert him to MSA guitars... I'm not having much luck ....The man in the Red cloak has already been to his house, and left a new all singing and dancing car....

David ...You have had many different tones , on the YOUTUBE videos..........I like a lot of the stuff on the Rains....Very Emmons push pull sound, from the Rains......However if you listen to Sweet Memories on the SHO BUD, you can hear the different tone.....Maybe the amp and pickups were different on that guitar, .... but with over ........256.000 ......hits on that video. The Sho Bud sound must please a few guys.....There is very few musicans on YouTube, with that kind of audience... Its way past the time for another post....Better get practising...................There will be no new toys for me ......I will still be in the toy shop at the side of my house on Christmas day.....Better than watching Snow white and the seven Dwarfs on Repeat TV

Nice to hear from you, this is a good bantering thread.
No doubt you'll have a few goodies from Texas to bring home in 2015.

Re.. Playing, I've got to learn to walk straight first, then I will have another go at the steel. I'm still wobbling around a lot.
It should get better I hope. Thought I was a gonna though.

Rains sounds better but the Justice plays better. I still have a pup or two to try on it when I get better, including Telonics.
I think Fred already knows it might be best with a new type 705 on it, which it had from new, but it might be to thin and bright with an old chrome 705 surround on it. You can't adjust the 705 much either on a Justice, it jams on the changer fixings when lowering it too, to what I think is a sensible distance from the strings.

I'm still waiting for my steak on the big green machine, it's a long time cooking.
You can't play a steel, or at least I've never heard you, but at least you know what you're talking about.
I just hope you can cook a steak better than you can't play.

I am looking forward to Dallas as soon as Christmas is out of the way. Ted and Ivor fly out the same day that I do (Tuesday). Once Ivor manages to lug his wallet out of the hold on his plane, he will then have to drag it onto the hire car. (One that has re-enforced suspension). Ivor dropped his wallet once - it landed on his foot and broke his big toe!! One word of advice. Never be a passenger in a car that Ivor is driving and tell him a joke. I did that this year, and we almost went over the side of the flyover.

I am hoping that Mike Johnston, Tommy White and Steve Palousek will be able to make it to the Dallas show in March. Mike and Tommy are both incredibly busy boys, but a welcome addition to any major show. Steve played superbly in March, and his Ritt through the Telonics TCA500 combo amp was nothing short of sensational. Buck Reid is currently gigging with Emmylou Harris, and really enjoying it. Buck is always popular on the main stage at Dallas and again I hope that gig commitments allow him to make it again next March.

There are always new products and developments to see at Dallas, as well as friends old and new. I hope that Tony Smart and Bobby Haskell manage to get there. They would be great ambassadors for the UK and wouldn't upset the natives with rudeness. One Brit has in the past, and it damages the image of UK players.
