Delay of choice for Steel???

Kev, the Peavey Profex is a preamp with built in effects, I used one for many years, good units but getting a bit long in the tooth(others may disagree with this).If price is a problem then you might want to look at the Behringer delay,they are clones of the DD3, cheap and cheerful, main problem is they go wrong (I have one I used for three years, now my back up) they are difficult to get repaired.

D'you Know I can't believe some of you guys. Are you so rich that you can spend money on a fancy name?? David Hartley has recommended a delay unit there for next to sod all and it seems to have been rejected. I use a delay pedal that cost me £24 and it is every bit as good as any boss pedal. any way forget the pedals, get yourself a Fender Mustang III amp it's got everything you need. I just got one, now all I need is a steel. HMMMM!

By now You will be pretty confused with the replies.
May I suggest You consider the following.
Price.....How much are You able/prepared to pay?
Many of the "stomp box" pedals are supplied without power supply units and whilst they also operate on batteries they are pretty heavy on them.A power supply will cost £12-£25 depending on manufacturer. The stomp box pedals appear to be in the £20-£90 range and everyone will have their own opinion of them.
If You are looking for a pedal which has more accurate peramater settings like digital display of the delay times etc and also have different types of delays built in and are programmable,then the cost is higher.Again,everyone will have an opinion.
