Terry - if you're looking to import from US, as a rough guide, $$ = ££ by the time you pay the shipping & import taxes. Remember that the duty, only about 3%, is not the biggest drain, it's the VAT (20%) on the total deal (incl. shipping and duty). Check the costs out in case I'm wrong, but that Gibson still looks OK-ish if it gets to UK at £550. T.
PS - have you thought about making or having one made? Maybe there are contacts through the forum? Hang on, haven't you been there recently "when bored"??

nice, but i think it's already gone JC...the 53 fender is at the moment $1500, but im gonna try to get it down to maybe $1300 as thats what most go for on ebay at the moment ?

as a kinda PS ive heard fender bassman is the way to go for an old gutsy western swing sound, how true is this? as im watching this on ebay, ok its not 1950-60s but theres no way i can afford £900 for an amp

got the right hump! was gonna do a deal with the 49 fender cost $1600+275 shipping/insurance $1875...just whacked the details into a "check for import/vat" website and it's telling me total to get it to me all paid up £1448.39 OUCH! what do i do? got my heart all set on it quick someone sell me a twinneck fender now...
