Steel guitar items wanted

case

Folks, I am looking for a decent case with wheels for an SD 10. The lighter the better as my back has given up!
Thanks

Steve, check out Scott Dixon cases, you won't get any lighter, alternative is to use SKB drum trap case (Sierra Wheeleze case), or similar Gator one and line them with foam .Many of our American brethern use these cases.I have Scott Dixon for van or flying gigs but use a padded gig bag for local gigs in my own car.Any one of these is a definite plus to your back.

Thanks Malcom, I will check them out. If they have wheels it will be so much easier!

Thanks again

By the way, my budget is around £100, I have had some good advice what I should get, but they are a little out of my range.
What about you Bob or Ted, anything that might be of benefit???

Cheers

Steve see if you can pick up second hand SKB or Gator (both have wheels), foam to line them is just a few pounds. Try Gumtree,Adtrader, ebay or similar. The other option is to fit wheels to your current case, I got a set of external wheels from Fred Justice(American Forum) which were easy to fit.I believe there was an article on that subject on there giving details of suitable wheels and suppliers.

Thanks again Malcom, been looking, but no luck yet! Will keep trying. I will check out the external wheel option next.

Great advice

Ha! I thought I felt my ears ringing Mr Conway!
I was on the case a while back (sts) and the result is attached.
This was made as a 'lighter' flight case and not as a specific 'lightweight' case so it has the rigidity for flight use but not as heavy as many. it is 10.5k
Trouble is Steve the material cost on this is higher than your budget!
I have another half done in lighter material but getting it finished is the issue as day to day plans have changed for me somewhat since the turn of the year.
We can have a chat on that anytime you like.
I didn't put this on here as DH has had his thumb print on it!! :D But no harm on it being seen.
