Shipping US to UK

Can people possibly advise on the methods they use for getting steels to the UK, shipping, labeling etc. In short I have bought a Uni and want to get it over as simply and cheaply as possible!

Cheapest way is bring it back as checked baggage, either by yourself or have someone bring it for you.Shipping it in by courier means , cost of shipping, import tax and vat.If you do bring it as baggage, when checking in ask agent to put it through the oversize belt, this means it is checked by TSA, sealed then goes through a short belt to baggage trolley rather than miles of baggage conveyor, pick it up at the outsize belt on arrival, this is best way I have found ( many years of working for major airline). How you decide to handle Customs is up to you.
