Where can I get hold of them in this country, the Maplin ones are to big...

Looks like Gerry may have what you need, check for GeorgeL tuning nuts (2 sizes) toward bottom of this page http://www.steelguitars.co.uk/Accessories.htm

Thanks Allan, I think mine are 1/8, but not sure. I'll check out on the usa forum....
