I am the first steel player in Cambridge...

Postby Banjotwang » Sat Dec 29, 2012 6:04 pm

...as far as I know. My only problem is I don't have a pedal steel guitar yet. I know my way round guitar, banjo, dobro and mandolin, but feel the urge to immerse myself in the mysteries of the steel. Having spent far too much on vintage acoustic guitars my modest budget is up to £1000 for a used, workable instrument. I've visited that nice John Davis in St Neots who has something in mind for me, but I'd be interested to know of anything else that might be available. All suggestions gratefully received. Thanks

Maybe you'd have more luck in the wanted section rather than the for sale area?

Check out the Bennett S10 being sold by Sandy Green , brilliant little guitar in mint condition, have played it many times when he came for lessons, if I had spare cash would buy it myself, honestly don't think you will do better for price or quality.

As steels go it is relatively near, just have it couriered down. Some of us buy from Europe and US with little or no hassle, as I said great little guitar and it one of the few I can personally vouch for as being exactly as advertised, virtually new very little playing time on it.Regards Malcolm

Hello NB. Yes, I guessed who you are of course. Good luck in your search for a steel.
I hope to see you over here with your steel, when you get it..
And remember, there's a volume pedal here with your name on it, if you need one.
Sell an acoustic, and but a new steel. That's what I would do.... :)
CD's and individual tracks available to download from iTunes and CD Baby.
