Wide Hole Nylon Tuners

Fri Sep 04, 2015 10:20 am

Hi there.

Looking to replace the nylons on my Sho~Bud Pro iii Custom.
I am after some with a slightly longer length and with a wider hole.
Have tried some of the modern nylons from Gerry and they are quite short and VERY tight on the rods (even after slightly enlarging the hole) which makes tuning a bit of an agg.

I am not sure if the ones on there at the moment are original but they seem to tune really nicely (not too much effort needed to turn but not too loose either) - you might be able to get a look at them in the picture below.

Does anyone know where I might find any of the wider hole ones?

Cheers!
Joe.

Joe I have some here (long ones) but they are not cheap I got them from Michael Yahl . I think he makes them on a lathe so its his time you are paying for,
I have plenty of the short ones if you want to use spacers..........

Hi Joe, I have these tuners, They are NOS and made for the Sho-Bud series guitars.
They are 1.3/4 inches long and never been on a guitar.
If interested drop me a mail.
Ron

I have some Matt but if Ron has the longer tuners you are much better off getting them.

Joe, if this is the case, then why do you feel the need to change them ? also, If Ron has some originals from Shobud I would think his would be cheaper than mine as mine are made in small batches by Michael Yahl .... mass produced ones are cheaper than chips.....

Sorry, I didn't make it clear. I had an issue with a couple of the tuners that weren't working as well as the others - just looking to replace those at the moment but always good to have a store of some spares.
