Jim , your welcome to come and have a look in my front room and see some different makes. There is no substitute for actually sitting at one then another to feel the difference between them :)

HI jOHN, I wrote a lenghty letter which has disappeared when submited. However I live in the far north of Scotland and therefore rather difficult to travel south. Thank you for your interest and very generous offer to visit you. I would be looking for a lightweight guitar with no cabinet drop . YOURS AYE JIM TAYLOR [email protected]

Jim,don't get hung up on the cabinet drop thing, all guitars have drop, some better than others, but most of the time you will be hard pushed to notice it, and if you do actually notice it you can compensate with your bar placement.

Malcolm, I guess I was a bit " hung up " . Perhaps I am too cautious, but that is what lack of knowledge on this instrument does and my health problem does not help in not being able to travel any distance to see and handle these wonderful machines at first hand . If I was able to do see them it would much easier to make a sensible judgment. However, I am so grateful to you and everyone who has been instrumental in guiding me along this musical pathway . There is no immediate hurry but will keep my eyes open THANKS SO MUCH and YOU too JOHN EVERY BEST WISH JIM TAYLOR

Jim, I play a Williams 6oo series wide body, it has 5 pedals & 5 levers, it is quite light, and as Malcolm has already said cabinet drop is a much discussed subject but is you would be hard pushed to detect it without a tuner. Where do you stay, I was up in Tain, Alness, & Evanton last week doing my day job. If you don't want to reveal where you stay my email address is [email protected]

Hi Jim, I was in Fraserburgh twice last month. I know the Broch really well, played up there many times since the early 80s. I will let you know when I am next up your way, Regards Donny.
