Pics of LDG type changer anyone!!!!

While changing the copedant on my recently acquired Winsteel SD-10, I've noticed that someone in a previous life has done a bit of 'bodging' at the changer!

Hoping someone out there would be kind enough to send me some close-ups so I can get it sorted.

....Ohhh.....and there appears to be 3 varieties of tension spring....so hoping to find a source for those too!!

Thought I'd upload these!

Problem is with the essentially home-made spring retainer/end stop......the wobbly aluminium bit that looks like it was made by a one armed, short sighted third former!!!

(....S**t....hope it was no-one out there!!)

If I can get a good view of what should be there, I can have a stab at making something better....
....or might I find a spare part

Still hoping that someone might have a better pic of a LDG type changer
(already have the pic of the guitar presently on Ebay....but hoping for a better view!)

Kev, have some from various sources. Not sure of accuracy as I don't own one! Give me your email and I'll pop them over, save trying to upload them here.

Kev - there were a number variants of the LDG. The original single raise, single lower rack & barrel, then the Pro 1 & 2 type double raise single lower and double + double, and finally the Pro 111 and Superpro types triple raise double lower variants. Some were pot metal, some were not.

Kev - you could get some 1/8" steel plate and cut it out yourself. Make sure there is enough clearance for the changer lower fingers not to bind. If you go to http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=215169 you will see that I upgraded my MCI changer springs by adding an anchor bracket and changing the springs. On my guitar there is just a flat plate (not slotted like yours) that hold the fingers in place against it.

...I'm informed that the guitar was built to a LDG spec...but hopefully, from the earlier attached pics, you can see what I have at the mo'....

I think that part of the original changer....that includes the single string retainer...is missing.
It has been replaced by an 11 slotted homemade affair....and this is quite temperamental, and fiddly to set up.
......not sure that it needs to be slotted in fact.

I've never seen any Sho~Bud finger retainer plate look like the one you have pictured. It is normally a straight edged plate.
