Sorry Joe, But cut and paste don't cut it here. This was never walnut in its life and it would at least be wise to replace those black tuners and present a full set as per its former state!! You must have a shed load of them there! If your perceived market is the steel player forget it, but every success and commiserations to the poor unsuspecting punter who traverses Denmark Street! Put it right! Then sell it!... Thinking about it should I worry here!!!!! ...... it will come back to one if us to fix! ............... too bad on the buyer though!

Hi Bob.

I completely agree.

Absolute travesty that someone changed the tuners on the LDG. I'm sure there was good reason. I'd love to restore them to the originals, if anyone has any please get in touch.

As for the walnut description.. Not my doing. I merely try to encourage the powers that be to put money into steels and steel related items; unfortunately I have nothing to do with the website.

Thanks for your comment.

I realise you are trying very hard to push the PSG Joe and all credit to you for that!

Though the steel community may appear a tad geriatric we are the guys who made this instrument and we don't take prisoners!

Such is our Passion!

Sir Bob swings from the shoulder  and lands it right on the button  Well put. :guitar:

I, too, pity the poor punter who enters the steel market with no prior knowledge, having kind of been there myself. Shakey made a great, recent post, which addressed in part the high cost of steels, and if I ever should come across anyone looking to buy a steel my first advice would be to talk to the likes of Bob, JD or any of the, 'been round the block steel brigade' These guys know their stuff, and, praise the lord, they use this forum to share it :guitar:

Let's hear it for the BRTBSB

I just spent a very pleasant lunch hour with Joe putting the Emmons through it's paces! Awesome guitar. If I didn't have mouths to feed etc...

I didn't get time to try out the LDG in the window... or the Fender 800 in the corner! Having worked in a music shop on Charing Cross Road for many years and been a semi regular visitor to Denmark Street since I was a teenager I can tell you that being able to walk into a shop there and try out 3 pedal steels is something that hasn't happened in probably 20 years, since Boogie Music (the former Sho Bud shop) closed down. Last time I saw a pedal steel in Denmark street was a stricken MSA lying in bits on the floor of Hanks about 10 years ago. Quite a sorry sight.

Anyway, we have Joe to thank for the current state of affairs. If you're in striking distance, get yourself down there, make a noise and show that there is interest!

Yes there are a few details wrong on the website and yes you are seeing "London Prices" but I think this is a moment to celebrate, not quibble and kvetch over details. At my old shop they had the profit-per-square-foot worked out so a steel guitar wasn't even viable - even if any staff had known what one looked like. Being able to hang out in a bricks and mortar guitar shop, play and shoot the shit about pedal steels is something valuable that we've lost - it literally hasn't happened to us in a generation (BTW there were two other steelies in the shop at the same time as me, just by chance, hanging out and chatting :o imagine!).

Get in touch with Joe, tell him when you're coming. :guitar: :guitar: :guitar: :guitar:

Yes I agree with Jon, Joe's a great guy doing his best in the most expensive area of the Uk. I bought a silica bar from him a couple of months ago great to be able to try it first.
